Singapore’s Committee of Future Economy report has revealed just how important data analytics will be for the country’s growth.

Part of the measures are programmes to interest, educate and enable students so that they are equipped from the get go.

The country’s Ngee Ann Polytechnic introduced visual analytics platform Tableau to teach students this crucial skill. Students learn by getting hands-on with data analytics and playing with visualisations.

As a result, “students are more confident in analysing data sets,” a senior lecturer from the polytechnic says. In the past, most analytics lessons were based on theory and did not give students practical experience.

The popularity of the course has led to the polytechnic expanding it to even more students.

Now, over 500 students take the course annually. If you would like to learn more about Tableau, download the full case study below.
