Secretary-General Dato’ Lokman Hakim Bin Ali will discuss Malaysia’s Youth Vision to 2050.

The Secretary-General Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, Dato’ Lokman Hakim Bin Ali, will be speaking at Innovation Labs World on 26 September in Singapore.

Ali will share his experiences with the Transformasi Nasional 2050 (TN50) initiative, which charts Malaysia’s vision towards the year 2050.

Through TN50, the government seeks to better understand the hopes and aspirations of the younger generation towards shaping Malaysia in the future. The initiative takes the form of dialogues and discourse events, where youths speak and the minister listens.

Ali will be part of the Achieving Impact and Legitimacy Focus Group, along with Anir Chowdhury, Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and Pedro Conceição, Director of Strategic Policy at the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support, United Nations Development Programme.

The group will be moderated by Nadine Smith, Global Marketing and Communications Director for the Centre for Public Impact.

Her work focuses on helping governments around the world to design and implement more impactful initiatives. "We want to have a conversation with leading officials on how to engage citizens and ensure continued legitimacy and trust,” she said.

“Around the world, we have seen institutions affected by the frustration and dissatisfaction of citizens who don't feel listened to,” Smith added.

“We want to help change this, and will be setting out some options for how this might be achieved at this session.” Register today to learn about government innovation all over the world. Public servants may register for free.
