GovInsider celebrates government innovation across the region

The GovInsider Innovation Awards recognises top government projects from Asia Pacific.

On 26 September, the GovInsider Innovation Awards celebrated the best public sector projects in Asia Pacific. An international judging panel selected the winners - from New Zealand to the Maldives, and Singapore to Jakarta.


Winners include the Mayor of Surabaya, the GovTech Agency of Singapore, and New Zealand’s Department of Internal Affairs. The awards were handed out by Mr Taavi Rõivas Prime Minister of Estonia, 2014 – 2016.


“We were astounded by the winners, who are fighting malaria, tackling dengue fever, building autonomous wheelchairs, and improving their nation’s transport systems,” Joshua Chambers, Founder of GovInsider and chair of judging panel, said.

Best Team Under 35 Nominee: GovTech Agency, Singapore Project: NeoType/govBuy


Best Citizen Engagement Project Nominee: Department of Internal Affairs, New Zealand Project: SmartStart


Best Use of UI and UX Design Nominee: Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore Project: myTax Portal Revamp Project


Best Use of Data Nominee: National Environmental Agency, Singapore Project: Dengue risk map for resource allocation and targeted preventive surveillance


Best Drones and Robotics Project Nominee: GovTech Agency, Singapore Project: Autonomous Wheelchair Project


Best Risk Nominee: Central Provident Fund Board, Singapore Project: Touching Hearts & Changing Lives with One-to-One Retirement Planning
