Jakarta’s one-stop shop agency plans to launch a service that will pick up and deliver government documents to citizens.
“We are currently preparing for the launch of the delivery service. It will handle eight types of documents,” Edy Junaedi, Head of the One-stop Integrated Service Agency told The Jakarta Post.
The service will launch on 5 January 2016 and will deliver documents for employment plans, foreigners’ work permits, trade permits, construction licenses, company registrations, company reports, workers’ reports and import identification numbers.
The service will be available at 44 district-level service centres, with seven to eight drivers at each centre.
The agency is now hiring people who own and drive motorcycles to pickup and deliver the documents, Junaedi said.
The drivers will pick up the documents to apply for the permits, and then deliver the documents back to the customers once the application has been processed, he added.
The applicant must be present during both pickup and delivery of the documents, and cannot be represented by anyone else. A phone number to use the delivery service will be announced in January.
The agency, launched in January 2015, runs 318 one-stop shops across Jakarta where citizens can apply for 518 government licenses and documents.
