The Vice Governor of Jakarta, Indonesia will speak at Innovation Labs World in Singapore on 25 September.

Sandiaga Uno will share Jakarta’s Smart City 4.0 plans for engaging citizen voices in building up the city.

The Jakarta administration’s top priority since taking office last year has been to “unify the city”, he has said, following divisive local elections. The government is looking to improve its business climate, open up procurement, and cut corruption in government payments with a new cashless vision.

For instance, the city’s cashless payments regime tracks the fuel consumption of government officials, cuts fraud and helps citizens pay their electricity bills on time, Uno said in an exclusive interview with GovInsider.

At Innovation Labs World, he will be speaking in a focus group on Inclusive Innovation, where he will be joined by speakers from the United Nations.
