Woodlands Health Innovation Chief to speak at ILW

Singapore’s newest hospital to share its priorities at Innovation Labs World.
Dr Stephen Chan is head of the Department of Quality and Innovation at the hospital. He will be speaking at the public sector summit on 26 September in Singapore.
The facility, announced last week, will use artificial intelligence, analytics and robotics for patient care and administration. Artificial intelligence will be used to analyse data on patient diagnostics, while robotics will help automate backend services like food delivery, housekeeping and equipment.
Singapore’s Health Minister Gan Kim Yong said that the campus will be a “pioneer” in the use of technology for patients care. “I have challenged the WHC team to be bold in the adoption of smart technology, automation and IT innovations, and incorporate these in its design of the new campus,” he has announced.
The facility will begin operations from 2022, will house 1,800 beds including an acute hospital, a community hospital and long-term care facilities.
