I strongly believe that there’s a gap of miscommunication between the millennials and governments globally. There’s a lack of collaboration between them.
With Memori, my team and I work collaboratively and communicate regularly with the local government, and the results are astounding. Through that, Memori is able to create products relevant to meet societal needs and implement more effectively. I am very grateful for the relationships forged between Memori and the various local governments we operate in.
Do you feel optimistic about the future of your country?
Yes, definitely. Brunei has an amazing startup ecosystem built and nurtured by DARe Brunei (Brunei government’s Enterprise Development agency). Come visit us to find out!
Which other countries inspire you and why?
Dubai. Being an economist, it is certainly amazing how a desert can be turned into a thriving city. Indeed, possibilities are everywhere.
Who do you admire? Who is your hero?
My mum. She has empowered me to do the impossible. She is a single-mother and single-handedly raise me and my brother up. Life was tough growing up. Her greatest lesson to me: Be resilient and keep trying until you get there. Nothing is impossible if there's a will.
What is one thing that you would like to preserve for the next generation?
