Looking to catch up with Singapore.

Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil wants the city government to create 1,000 new apps in the next two years, looking to catch up with Singapore

“Bandung smart city program is targeting to have 1,000 applications. It’s a target in my tenure,” he said, adding: “I’m targeting to catch up with Singapore. It’s an example of a city with an international standard of services.”

“In the near future, we might launch two applications to address queueing and motorbike taxi issues," Mayor Kamil added. The city government now has 300 apps, he said, mostly for internal use, while Singapore has 1,600 government apps.

The Mayor is recruiting a team of 12 programmers that will build the new government apps.
