New training facility for government officials launched.

A Malaysian university has opened a center to help government officials improve their social media skills.

The new Malaysia Digital Innovation Centre will “play a prominent role” in training government officials on social media, Limkokwing University said.

“This will be a platform where Malaysians can acquire [and] upscale their skills in new media technology,” it added.

“This will help build capacity to bridge the innovation gap that prevents many countries from participating in the global economy.”

The center was launched by Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Salleh Bin Said Keruak during the university’s Malaysia Social Media Week 2016 event.
