TNB’s new CEO confirms for POWERGEN & Asian Utility Week

Amir Hamzah Azizan, President and CEO, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), will be a keynote speaker at POWERGEN & Asian Utility Week which this year is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

He will be talking about how TNB is building capacity in renewable markets as part of an Energy Transition strategy, while developing new unregulated profit strategies and customer engagement innovations.

Amir Hamzah joined Tenaga Nasional Berhad in April 2019. Prior to this, he served at the Shell Group of Companies for 10 years in various capacities in Malaysia, Singapore and the United Kingdom. He has also been the Managing Director and CEO of PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad. In August 2012, he joined PETRONAS Lubricants International as the Group MD and CEO, while simultaneously serving as the VP, Downstream Marketing and subsequently VP, Lubricants for the PETRONAS Group.

This is the first year that POWERGEN & Asian Utility Week have been collocated. The shows have been enlarged to include new business critical themes. We anticipate an audience of 11,000 people making this the largest power and energy expo in ASEAN markets. Our central theme is Navigating the Energy Transition which reflects the region’s drive to create new energy solutions from gas and renewable energy strategies.

We investigate how this strategy is played out across the entire power value chain – from generation including renewables, to smart grids and customers. Within a new summit called Energy Capital Leaders, we cover the Energy Transition as it impacts Finance and Investment sectors.
