My Urban Challenge: Cebu, Luang Prabang & Yangon
By Medha Basu
Our new infographic series on the biggest challenges city leaders in Southeast Asia want to tackle.
More than half of the world’s population lives in cities, yet they take up only 1% of our earth’s surface. And Southeast Asia is home to some of the most vibrant and fastest growing ones.
Presenting to you the My Urban Challenge series: What are the biggest challenges city leaders want to tackle? And what inspires them to keep going?
Cities across the region have come up with innovative ways to implement their visions. Today, we share with you the first three of these:
- Mayor of Yangon, Myanmar: Building infrastructure for one of the fastest growing cities on the planet
- Mayor of Luang Prabang, Laos: Using tech to keep up with tourism at a World Heritage Site
- Smart City Chief of Cebu, Philippines: Managing inequality, traffic and waste in a commercial hub
This will be an ongoing series pulling together innovations from city leaders across ASEAN.
