Signs MOU with two local institutes.

Thailand’s government is kickstarting its digital skills training, partnering with two local institutes to groom its civil service.

The Electronic Government Agency (EFA) signed a MOU this week with the Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC) and the Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (TPQI) to scale its skills development plan.

The OCSC will work closely with TPQI to set guidelines needed for digital skills development and assess the skill levels of officials.

This is part of the government's thrust to equip its officials with relevant skills, in line with Thailand 4.0 - a long-term plan under Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to transform the country into a knowledge-based economy.

The digital skills development plan will be presented to the Cabinet and the OCSC committee for further review. This year, the government will run assessments for 15,000 government authorities and public officials to determine their skills level.
