Governments across the region are vying for startups and businesses to set up in their cities. But time-consuming government procedures could discourage the private sector. Businesses setting up in Buenos Aires in Argentina now spend 65% less time on government tasks with a new city system. And officials are able to monitor and analyse returns from new investments in the capital city. “Performing an analysis on the cost-benefit impact of a completed project could take up to a full day before, and now we have that data immediately,” says Damian Specter, General Director of the city’s Investor Service Centre.
