Last year’s winners included the United Nations Pulse Lab Jakarta, New Zealand’s Department of Internal Affairs and the National Environment Agency of Singapore.

Pulse Lab Jakarta won Best Adaptation for LaCaK Malaria (Lapor Cepat Kasus Malaria / Malaria Case Rapid Reporting), a project that let people report on malaria patients and medicine stocks with mobile devices.

Meanwhile, the Department of Internal Affairs, New Zealand was awarded the Best Citizen Engagement Project for SmartStart, a predictive service platform for new parents.

Singapore’s National Environment Agency took home the prize for Best Use of Data, for their project to use machine learning to predict dengue hotspots.
