Gavin Slater brings seven years of expertise in leadership roles at National Australia Bank.

Gavin Slater has been confirmed as the new CEO of the Digital Transformation Agency of Australia, according to a press release from the agency.

Slater was a member of the Group Executive Team of the National Australia Bank, where he drove a widespread digital transformation agenda across large, customer service businesses. He also has had experience as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at NAB.

“Gavin has a proven track record in driving transformational change to respond to digital disruption,” Assistant Minister for Cities and Digital Transformation Angus Taylor was quoted as saying.

Taylor noted that Slater had led initiatives that overhauled NAB’s technology environment, and helped to deliver “significantly improved” customer experience. His experience will be “invaluable” as the government moves forward with whole-of-government improvements in digital delivery, IT project reviews, and ICT service procurement, Taylor added.

Slater will be taking over from interim CEO Nerida O’Loughlin from 1 May 2017, according to the release. Image by DTA
