We welcomed almost 500 senior government officials from 33 countries to our flagship summit, held for the first time at the United Nations in Bangkok this year.
Jonathan Wong, Chief of Technology & Innovation at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia Pacific (UN ESCAP), and Dr Pun-Arj Chairatana, Director of the National Innovation Agency (NIA) of Thailand, welcomed the audience with their vision on government innovation in Asia.
H.E. Huda Al Hashimi, Assistant Director General for Strategy & Innovation in the Prime Minister’s Office of the United Arab Emirates and Li Hongyi, Director of Open Government Products for the Government Technology Agency of Singapore shared their experiences with keynote presentations.
Later in the day, Her Royal Highness Princess Sikhanyiso, Principal Princess of the Kingdom of Eswatini, Minister of Information & Communication Technology and Honorable Senator, and UNESCAP’s Wong presented the annual GovInsider Innovation Awards.
Wong said, “A huge thanks to them, I am really delighted to support GovInsider and NIA with this event. We need events like this, we need to convene these different countries and experts to move forward together.”
NIA’s Chairatana added: “On behalf of the National Innovation Agency and the Royal Thai Government, we wish that GovInsider Live can be part of the new landscape of Thailand to combine Thai wisdom, technologies, and innovation between the public and private sectors.”
