Artificial intelligence (AI) and data-driven technologies are making an impact on the agricultural sector.
From real-time crop monitoring to autonomous machinery, latest innovations in the AI space are helping farmers improve their yields and reduce waste.
The National AI Action Plan 2026-2030 has identified the agrofood sector as a “key impact engine for strengthening national food security”, which would see the government rolling out initiatives to enhance climate-smart agriculture and AI solutions tailored to local crops and needs.
The NAIO Pulse is a bi-monthly newsletter published by Malaysia’s National AI Office (NAIO), focusing on AI developments in the country.
The use cases highlighted in January’s newsletter ranged from global deployments of AI in agriculture, to initiatives that empower farmers’ knowledge and use of digital services.
