The drive towards innovation in the public sector poses a dual challenge.

On one hand, governments around the world are on a mission to leverage cloud transformation to modernise operations and harness emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).

On the other hand, the successful deployment of these technologies needs to be matched by a parallel commitment to cybersecurity so that these technologies enhance and not erode public trust and data integrity.

This is the central theme of the upcoming STACKx Cybersecurity 2025, GovTech Singapore’s first cybersecurity-focused edition of its flagship tech conference series.

Happening on April 15, 2025, this one-day event will bring together public and private sector experts to explore the evolving cyber landscape and discuss strategies to stay ahead of threats.

STACKx is part of GovTech’s STACK community events, which provide a platform for government leaders, tech professionals, and industry practitioners to learn and network around tech for public good.

Attendees can expect keynote sessions, expert-led breakout tracks, and networking opportunities designed to foster cross-sector collaboration.

Key themes: AI, cloud security and cybersecurity leadership

This year’s event will feature three deep-dive tracks on themes around AI, cloud security, and cybersecurity leadership.

In the cyberspace, AI is increasingly used by attackers and defenders alike. This escalating dynamic compels the government to strengthen its cyber resilience through AI-powered capabilities.

The AI track attendees can expect to gain insights into real-world AI security applications, risks of weaponised AI, and the role of governance in securing AI-powered systems.

As the landscape of securing cloud environment evolves, the cloud security track examines how organisations can build resilient cloud systems while addressing the counterproductive effects of tool sprawl and alert fatigue that many security teams face today.

Through practitioner-led sessions, the track will explore the rapidly evolving threat landscape, effective approaches to protection, detection, and response in the cloud, as well as the government’s approach to cloud security.

As technology ecosystems become more sophisticated and interconnected, the scope of cybersecurity continues to expand at an unprecedented rate. CISOs now operate in an environment where advanced threats and resource constraints collide with ever-growing security demands.

The cybersecurity leadership track offers security leaders strategic insights to navigate these challenges, exploring practical approaches to resource allocation, risk management, and security programme optimisation in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
