How to develop the most effective, targeted citizen services: upcoming GovInsider event

By Rachel Teng

Kenneth Sng will share OGP’s citizen service projects and trains of thought that go behind developing them.

Kenneth Sng, Product Manager of Open Government Products at Singapore’s GovTech agency, will be sharing critical insights from the agency’s experience of developing citizen services at the upcoming GovInsider panel Citizen Services for Life. Open Government Products is an experimental development team within GovTech that is known for building new services rapidly.

Sng will reveal Open Government Products’ approach to developing highly targeted, and in particular digital, solutions for citizens and the data required to make these services a reality.

His team is, for instance, launching a health appointment system in the next few weeks that aims to tap the increased vaccine awareness created by the Covid-19 pandemic to expand the uptake of HPV and pneumonia inoculations and mitigate highly preventable illness and death through digitalisation.

Sng will be joined by other experts and civil servants to discuss the need to build people’s trust in the collection of quality personal data, the challenges and considerations behind integrating citizen services, and the digital tools that can help overcome hurdles in these processes. The lineup features:

  • Terence Ng, Director, Policy, Research & Surveillance Division, Innovation Office, Health Promotion Board, Ministry of Health

  • Ong Yunn Shing, Chief of Strategy, Research & Data Division, Agency for Integrated Care

  • Richard Koh, Area Vice President, Confluent Asia

  •
The event is being run by GovInsider in partnership with Confluent, a leader in data-in-motion service provision.
