Jakarta Governor to officials: ‘Use Qlue for budget planning’

Jakarta’s Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama has asked officials to use feedback from complaints app Qlue to plan their budgets.

“If you want to know the needs of Jakarta’s residents, monitor Qlue”, he said.

Qlue lets users submit complaints on any public service directly to the city government, along with their locations and photos. Officials view these reports at Jakarta’s Smart City Lounge, assigning frontline officials to respond to the complaints.

The complaints can help officials monitor the quality of public services across the city, and where money and effort may be needed most.

The Governor has previously called for the app to go national, but the federal government has its own national complaints system called Lapor which it is pushing out to cities.
