President-elect announces reforms to law enforcement and tax agencies.

Ranks across the Philippines Government will be overhauled when President-elect Rodrigo Duterte takes office on June 30.

“There will be a massive reshuffle so I am putting a notice now to everybody,” he said in a press conference.

Duterte singled out the Philippine National Police, National Bureau of Investigation, and the Bureau of Corrections in his plans, after five people died at a concert in Pasay City.

He will make changes across all ranks from chief to janitor, he said, adding: “When I reshuffle, I don’t reshuffle [just] officers. There will be a massive movement.”

Duterte’s team earlier this month announced his plans for changes to tax agencies. “Efforts will be complemented by reforms in the bureaucracy of the tax-collecting agencies.

This will fulfill the president-elect's promise that there will be less corruption in the government," said Carlos Dominguez, a member of Duterte’s transition team.

He will also provide quicker business licences to make the country more attractive to foreign investors, Dominiguez said.
