Over the past five years, Indonesia’s Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) has undertaken bold reforms to position the country as Southeast Asia’s leading digital economy by 2025. This transformation began with the strategic consolidation of SOEs, laying a stable foundation for digital growth and modernization. By the end of 2024, these efforts earned recognition from respected institutions for successfully reinventing SOEs.​

Looking ahead, BUMN is aligning with the broader national vision of Indonesia Emas 2045—a roadmap to transform Indonesia into a sovereign, advanced, and sustainable nation by its centennial in 2045. This vision is anchored in eight strategic agendas, including accelerating national competitiveness, promoting a green economy, upskilling human capital, and enabling transparent, high-integrity digital governance.​

A pivotal enabler of this vision is the establishment of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara), a sovereign wealth fund created to manage SOEs and drive economic growth by attracting foreign capital into Indonesia’s most strategic sectors.​

Technology plays a central role in sustaining this transformation. For SOEs with mature digital foundations, the focus now shifts to adopting innovative capabilities that enhance productivity, enable diversification, and support granular sustainability management across finance and supply chain operations.​
