Synopsis
Championing the Agencies and Teams Building Thailand's Sovereign Defence Capability
We are pleased to announce the inaugural GovInsider–DTI Defence Innovation Awards, organised in partnership with the Defence Technology Institute (Public Organization), Ministry of Defence, Kingdom of Thailand, to recognise and celebrate the outstanding agencies, teams and individuals driving innovation, capability development and industrial transformation across Thailand's defence and security ecosystem.
The awards are given to recognize government agencies, private sector entities working for or in collaboration with government agencies, and government officials whose work, activities or projects promote and support innovations in national defence and security, resulting in exemplary outcomes measured by the success in achieving model or exemplary performance of the agency and its personnel.
Winners will be revealed at the Thailand Defence & Security Innovation Dialogue on 17 November 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, co-hosted by GovInsider and the Defence Technology Institute.
IDIVIDUAL AWARDS
1. Rising Defence and Security Star Award
Showing evidence of proposed ideas, concepts related to or relevant to Defence and Security at a national/internation level.
2. Defence and Security Innovator of The Year Award
Leading or playing a key role in defence and security projects that are shaping Thailand’s defence and security ecosystem.
AGENCY AWARDS
1. Defence and Security Engagement of the Year
To recognize projects or activities showcasing international/national cooperation, military diplomacy, and strategic partnerships to build trust, enhance defense capabilities, and address shared security threats.
2. Defence and Security Best Practice of the Year
To recognize projects or activities showcasing the achievement of being a model organization/agency with best practice, and its application can be expanded within and outside the organization /agency.
3. Defence and Security Human Development of the Year
To recognize projects or activities with excellence in promoting and supporting training, workshops or seminars for personnel development pertaining to defence and security.
4. Defence and Security Information and Knowledge of the Year
To recognize the organization or agency with projects or activities showcasing achievements in role of helping to determine or determining policies and plans in the development of science, engineering, technology, and management for national defence and security.
Eligibility and Submission Guidelines
To be eligible to join the awards, you must nominate a government or public sector project that was launched within the last 12 calendar months. Said project must include at least one MOD related agency or unit as a partner. If launched prior, it remains eligible if recent developments, improvements, or upgrades were made and outcomes with tangible evidences still prevail.
Since Defence Technology Institute is co-hosting the event, individuals or teams from or projects in association with the institute are ineligible.
- All nominations must be submitted by 30th October 2026, 17:00 Thailand Standard Time.
- Each nominee can nominate for a maximum of two (2) categories.
- Each nomination form is valid for one (1) entry only. If you are nominating for several categories, please enter each entry separately.
- Nominations should clearly demonstrate the impact, outcomes and significance of the individual, agency, team or programme, including measurable results where available.
- Submissions may include supporting evidence such as performance data, deployment records, partnership agreements, training outcomes or other relevant documentation.
