Meet the Young & Official changemakers reshaping government from within

Government transformation sometimes happens quietly and over a period, from a pilot project gaining traction to a policy being reframed.

Often, the person behind it is someone you haven’t heard of yet.

GovInsider wants to celebrate them.

That is why we have complied our inaugural Young & Official Special Report to spotlight public sector officials aged 35 and below across every level, role, and function, who are driving meaningful change in their organisations.

The report aims to send a clear signal to the next generation that the public sector can be a vibrant and high-impact space where they can actively shape the future of governance.

The officials featured in this edition are as diverse as the work they do, spanning over 40 agencies and 9 countries.

Notable profiles range from Dominican Republic’s Vice Minister for Public Innovation and Digital, Singapore’s Head of Queenstown Polyclinic, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, Papua New Guinea’s Digital Government Program Lead and more.

But they all share something in common: they took creativity, curiosity, and courage to make a difference. And age is but a number, not a factor to make a difference in government.

The report has been made possible with our community partners who nominated notable innovators and spread the word to their networks.

They include: Ukraine’s Global Government Technology Centre (GGTC), Kyiv; Centre for Digital Public Infrastructure (CDPI); the Philippines’ Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) - Region 10; and CHI FLYING (Future Leaders and Young Innovators Guild) Network under Singapore’s Centre for Healthcare Innovation.

We hope this report serves as an example for any civil servant and aspiring youth committed to building responsible, inclusive, and impactful public services for the next generation.
